Switching Organisations
Because a single account can belong to many organisations, NeonNow makes it easy to choose which organisation you're working in and move between them without signing out. This page covers the multi-organisation experience.
If you belong to a single organisation, you go straight into it after signing in and none of the selection or switching UI appears. The features below apply when you have two or more memberships.
Selecting an Organisation at Sign-In
When you sign in and belong to more than one organisation, you're shown a Select an organisation screen listing the organisations you have an active membership in. Choose one to enter it.
This screen also offers a Remember my last organisation option. Tick it to skip the selection screen on future sign-ins and go straight back into the organisation you last used. You can change this later from Preferences.
You can't bypass the selection screen any other way — if you don't want to continue, a Sign out option is available directly on it.
You won't see this screen if:
- you only belong to one organisation, or
- you have Remember my last organisation turned on.
The Organisation Switcher
Once you're inside the NeonNow Admin app, an organisation switcher appears in the core layout. Use it to move to a different organisation at any time without signing out.
- The switcher only appears for accounts with more than one membership.
- You can only switch between organisations you have an active membership in.
- When you switch, you're taken to the Admin home for that organisation (based on its enabled products and configuration) rather than staying on the current page. Your role in the new organisation determines what you can see and do.
Organisation in the URL
The organisation you're working in is reflected in the page URL, so you can bookmark or reload a page and return to the same organisation. This works much like other multi-tenant admin tools that put the organisation identifier in the address.
When a page loads, NeonNow verifies that the organisation in the URL is one you're allowed to access.
Invalid or Inaccessible Organisations
If you open a URL for an organisation that doesn't exist, or one you don't have access to (for example, after your membership was removed), you're shown a not found page rather than the organisation's data.
If you believe you should have access, ask an administrator of that organisation to invite you, then accept the invitation from your organisation memberships.
When You Have No Memberships
If you have no active memberships at all, there's nothing to select or switch between. You land on the no-membership page instead — see Organisation Memberships for what that looks like and what you can do from there.
